Felician Franciscan Sisters
The Felician Sisters are an international community of more than 1,000 vowed women religious across four continents. We minister to God’s people in the United States, Canada, Haiti, Brazil, Poland, Italy, England, France, Kenya, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, and the Amazon.
Founded in Poland in 1855, the first Felician Sisters arrived in North America in 1874.
Felician Sisters are now educating and serving youth from preschools to college campuses across North America. Within our Felician-sponsored schools and colleges, students are taught in the Felician Franciscan tradition where they are provided distinctive opportunities for academic, personal, and spiritual growth in settings that foster compassion, justice, peace, respect for the dignity of all persons, and a reverence for all creation.
Felician-sponsored early childhood education centers encourage each child from a very early age to strive to reach his or her fullest physical, spiritual, and intellectual potential. Within these nurturing and compassionate environments, each and every child is respected and celebrated as a child of God.
