The Infant Program
Based on the understanding that babies need consistent love, attention, praise, concern, and caring; they also need significant people in their daily lives who are well prepared and knowledgeable in sound principles of child development. Learning is seen as a developmental process that occurs naturally and progressively within a stimulating and nurturing environment. Felician Children’s Center offers a wide variety of interesting play experiences geared toward each child’s developmental level. Infants are provided with sufficient opportunities to explore, manipulate and come to a better understanding of the world through their own efforts.
The Toddler Program
Specifically designed to meet the unique needs of a young child. Low child-to-adult ratios allow for consistent care and loving interactions. Opportunities are provided for multi-sensory experiences aimed at delighting, as well as sparking and satisfying curiosity. Flexibility and spontaneity throughout the day help in strengthening each child’s individual capabilities at various stages of development.
Preschool/Montessori
Our Kindergarten Readiness Curriculum focuses on readiness and socialization skills, along with providing varied levels of exposure to academics to prepare your child for Kindergarten. Our staff plans varied experiences for children throughout the day including stories, songs, math concepts, alphabet, colors, plays, science, and artwork. Our staff is educationally trained and experienced in Montessori pedagogy. Our goal is to nurture and help your child to reach their fullest potential by enhancing their physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and social skills.
The Montessori curriculum or educational plan of the Center encourages your child to remain actively involved in the learning process, to experience a variety of activities appropriate to each age and stage of development, and to pursue individual interests in the context of life in the community and the world. Through these experiences, your child enhances their language, vocabulary, and literacy skills, understanding of concepts about the physical world, social skills, problem-solving strategies, motor coordination, and self-confidence.
